There is a popular phrase that goes like “No man is an island.” This phrase aptly describes the fact that we are a part of the larger world around us. No matter how big or small, we are all connected. As a human being, we need to look after ourselves and the people around us. The saying goes that “... If you want to be happy, be good,” but the truth is that you will be happy only if you try to be both good and wise. The real reason behind this is that we are social beings. We are born to live in a social environment and to live in a social environment means to live a social life. In a way, it is also about a life with self-respect. It is important that we learn to live a good and wise life. It is important that we look after ourselves and it is important that we do not hurt other people. As we have seen earlier, we are not islands, but we are part of a larger world. Thus, we need to keep in mind that there are other people around us and we need to be good to them. We need to be good to ourselves too.
