No one can deny the fact that the current political environment in the United States is a complex one. There are numerous parties and opinions on the same issue and there is no clear-cut resolution. However, what can we do about it? Should we sit back and watch our country be taken away from us or ... should we try and be proactive? Many people feel that we should sit back and watch as we are being torn apart. Some feel that we should try and do something to prevent the situation from getting out of control. The question is, which of these options do we actually have? Bipartisanship is not an option anymore; it is a requirement. The American people have divided responsibility for leadership right down the middle. In fact, our political process has now become a two-sided battlefield, where the Republican Party is pitted against the Democratic Party. We have two parties that are constantly clashing with each other and that is just not the way things should be. This is what the voters have wanted, and this is what they have voted for. Unfortunately, this is also what they got. Both parties have moved away from each other and now it is difficult to see a middle ground between them.
